- I live in Ballarat, an old goldfields town, in the central west of Victoria, but southerly in relation to the world. I love Chinese architecture, the post-goldfields towns and countryside of central Victoria, and I love the practice and the art of history. This year I'm beginning a research project on Ballarat in the 1870s.

It's so nice to see those daffodils...we're wrapping up summer and with a big storm advancing up the east coast, autumn is knocking on the door. I like the birds behind the daffodils...each one is such a decided character.
keep well in that big storm! from the news it looks to be a whopper. I will be watching, hoping it will blow over without harm.
